Job Description
In this role you will own the full accounting cycle across the group including US and European entities You will ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance and you will coordinate with external auditors to deliver audit ready financials You will work with a junior accountant to review daily bookkeeping and strengthen internal controls.
Requirements
- ā5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience ideally combining audit firm and in house roles in high growth or international environments
- āStrong technical knowledge of US GAAP with working knowledge of IFRS and Spanish PGC
- āProven experience leading or substantially contributing to multi entity consolidation and cross border intercompany reconciliations
- āHands on experience preparing for and collaborating closely with external auditors through full audit cycles
- āComfort with AI tools and automation and actively use AI assistants scripting and workflow automation to improve accounting processes
- āFluent Spanish and English both mandatory you will work across teams in Madrid New York and LATAM
- āExperience working in cross functional remote and international teams
- āNice to have fintech crypto or digital assets including familiarity with crypto subledgers and multi currency multi wallet accounting
- āExposure to ERP implementation or migration projects
- āFamiliarity with tools like QuickBooks Rippling Deel Ramp or Payhawk
- āExperience in regulated environments such as Banco de Espana CNMV SEC MTL regimes or similar
Responsibilities
- āOwn monthly quarterly and annual closes across all group entities including US and Europe
- āLead multi entity consolidation and intercompany reconciliations
- āPartner with external auditors on the annual audit cycle including preparing working papers and delivering items
- āReview and analyze balance sheet and P and L accounts prepared by the Junior Accountant and explain variances to management
- āStrengthen internal controls and document accounting processes as the group scales toward regulated activity
- āContribute to ERP transition and continuous improvement of accounting systems and workflows
- āCollaborate cross functionally with financial planning and analysis HR legal and operations to keep the financial picture accurate
- āWork closely with a Junior Accountant providing review guidance and mentorship
