Job Description
In this role you will design, build, and scale the core systems powering a vulnerability intelligence platform. You will own critical services and data pipelines end-to-end, from design through production. You will shape architecture, improve system performance and reliability, and deliver features that directly impact customers. You will debug complex production issues and build durable, scalable solutions that prevent them. You will partner with Product, Data, and Engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and participate in incident response and on-call rotations. This is a 100% remote role for candidates located in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Greater Austin, TX.
Requirements
- ā5+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems as a software engineer
- āStrong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.)
- āExperience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence
- āExperience designing distributed systems and working with microservices architectures
- āDeep understanding of APIs, system design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- āExperience working with data pipelines, ETL systems, or high-volume data processing
- āProven ability to debug and optimize production systems
- āStrong ownership mindset with the ability to lead projects independently
- āExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- āFamiliarity with CVE, NVD, KEV, or exploit intelligence datasets (preferred)
- āExperience with streaming systems or real-time data processing (preferred)
Responsibilities
- āDesign and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines
- āOwn services end-to-end, including architecture, development, deployment, and operation
- āLead technical design discussions and contribute to system architecture decisions
- āWrite high-quality, maintainable code and drive engineering best practices
- āDebug complex production issues and implement long-term, scalable solutions
- āImprove system performance, reliability, and observability across the platform
- āPartner closely with Product, Data, and other Engineering teams to deliver impactful features
- āMentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture
- āParticipate in incident response and on-call rotations
