Job Description

In this role you will design, build, and scale the core systems powering a vulnerability intelligence platform. You will own critical services and data pipelines end-to-end, from design through production. You will shape architecture, improve system performance and reliability, and deliver features that directly impact customers. You will debug complex production issues and build durable, scalable solutions that prevent them. You will partner with Product, Data, and Engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and participate in incident response and on-call rotations. This is a 100% remote role for candidates located in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Greater Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • ā—5+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems as a software engineer
  • ā—Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.)
  • ā—Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence
  • ā—Experience designing distributed systems and working with microservices architectures
  • ā—Deep understanding of APIs, system design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • ā—Experience working with data pipelines, ETL systems, or high-volume data processing
  • ā—Proven ability to debug and optimize production systems
  • ā—Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead projects independently
  • ā—Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • ā—Familiarity with CVE, NVD, KEV, or exploit intelligence datasets (preferred)
  • ā—Experience with streaming systems or real-time data processing (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • ā—Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines
  • ā—Own services end-to-end, including architecture, development, deployment, and operation
  • ā—Lead technical design discussions and contribute to system architecture decisions
  • ā—Write high-quality, maintainable code and drive engineering best practices
  • ā—Debug complex production issues and implement long-term, scalable solutions
  • ā—Improve system performance, reliability, and observability across the platform
  • ā—Partner closely with Product, Data, and other Engineering teams to deliver impactful features
  • ā—Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture
  • ā—Participate in incident response and on-call rotations
