Requirements
- āLaw degree from an accredited law school
- āQualified lawyer in a Francophone African jurisdiction (OHADA, Cameroon or DRC)
- ā8+ years of in-house legal experience in technology, finance, fintech or mobile money
- āFluent in French and English
- āStrong written and oral communication skills
- āExcellent legal drafting skills
- āStrong planning, organizational and management skills with ability to meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- āDraft and negotiate contracts for core products and services
- āEngage in complex and high-value contract negotiations
- āManage and improve the contracting process and contract management tools
- āImplement group legal policies and recommend updates
- āCentralize and maintain legal documentation and records
- āImplement procedures to manage claims, mediation, arbitration and litigation
- āProvide legal support for employment contracts, disciplinary matters and terminations
- āManage company secretarial matters across legal entities
- āWork with Risk and Controls to implement legal risk mitigations and controls
- āDevelop and execute data privacy compliance strategy and engage regulators
- āProvide regulatory and licensing support including mobile money license applications
