Job Description

As the first in-house legal hire you will set up and manage the company's legal framework and day-to-day legal operations. You will build policies, templates, and processes, provide strategic legal advice to executives and the board, draft and negotiate agreements, and establish a contract management system. You will develop and maintain compliance programs (including GDPR, AML, OFAC), monitor regulatory developments impacting blockchain and AI, identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, handle disputes and litigation, and support fundraising and equity administration.

Requirements

  • ā—J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • ā—3+ years of relevant legal experience including time at a top-tier law firm and/or as in-house counsel
  • ā—Experience with early-stage or high-growth companies particularly in web3 and AI
  • ā—Expertise in corporate governance contract law regulatory compliance and risk management
  • ā—Familiarity working with web3 teams
  • ā—Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • ā—Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment
  • ā—Strong business acumen
