Account Director, Strategic Communications (NYC)
Hybrid — 3 days in office
This amazing global strategic communications agency is seeking a dynamic Account Director to join its New York office team. The firm advises a diverse mix of high‑growth technology companies, venture capital firms, and Fortune 500 brands, helping senior executives amplify their message, build influence, and navigate a rapidly evolving business landscape. This role offers the opportunity to shape communication strategies for innovative organizations across sectors such as fintech, deeptech, AI, sustainability, Web3, crypto, enterprise B2B, etc.
As an Account Director, you will serve as a key client partner and team lead -driving strategy, overseeing execution, and ensuring seamless day‑to‑day account management. You’ll play a central role in managing complex workstreams, providing thoughtful counsel to senior leaders, and contributing meaningfully to the firm's revenue growth through excellent client service and new‑business development.
What You’ll Do
Lead day‑to‑day account management, serving as the primary point of contact and project manager across multiple client engagements.
Develop and execute high‑quality communications strategies and deliverables, including shareholder letters, strategic plans, talking points, and press materials.
Guide cross‑functional teams, oversee tactical execution, and ensure programs deliver measurable impact.
Anticipate client needs and act as a trusted resource, staying deeply informed on all aspects of each account.
Contribute insights and strategic recommendations that help clients achieve their business and communications goals.
Build and maintain strong reporter relationships across top‑tier national and trade media outlets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities while contributing to a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
Mentor and develop junior talent, supporting both their career growth and the organization’s goals and manage direct reports
Bring curiosity, sound judgment, and a solutions‑oriented mindset to complex, fast‑moving situations.
What You Bring
10+ years of progressive corporate communications or PR agency experience across multiple industries, especially B2B technology . (Bonus points if you have crypto or IPO experience)
A strong network of media relationships and a passion for storytelling.
Experience advising senior executives and managing complex stakeholder environments.
Expertise across technology and business sectors, with interest in topics such as AI, blockchain, fintech, and B2B tech/ enterprise innovation.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to oversee teams and delegate effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
