The Opportunity

Solana Foundation is seeking a Head of Stablecoins to lead the strategy, growth, and ecosystem development of stablecoins on Solana.

This is not a traditional BD or product role. The right person will own the full picture — from forging partnerships with stablecoin issuers, exchanges, and DeFi protocols, to designing strategies that drive meaningful liquidity onto Solana, to working with product and engineering teams to remove friction and unlock new use cases.

The ideal candidate thinks like a founder: they can set a vision, build relationships at the highest levels, get deep into mechanism design and tokenomics, and execute relentlessly across multiple work-streams simultaneously. They understand that growing stablecoins on Solana requires a combination of strategic partnerships, smart commercial structures, product thinking, and ecosystem coordination. The mandate of this role is not to drive organic or marginal growth, rather it is to drive step function/breakthrough growth.

What You'll Do

Define and own Solana Foundation's stablecoin growth strategy end-to-end — from issuer relationships to on-chain distribution and utility

Build and manage relationships with major stablecoin issuers, exchanges, custodians, market makers, and DeFi protocols to deepen stablecoin supply and usage on Solana

Design and oversee commercial strategies, and liquidity initiatives that attract and retain stablecoin capital on-chain

Work closely with product and engineering teams to identify infrastructure gaps, improve developer tooling, and enable new stablecoin use cases (payments, treasury, remittances, DeFi)

Collaborate with ecosystem teams across DeFi, payments, and institutional adoption to ensure stablecoin growth compounds across verticals

Track competitive dynamics across chains, analyze what's working, and adapt strategy quickly

Represent Solana Foundation in executive conversations, industry working groups, and at major conferences

What We're Looking For

7+ years of experience spanning some combination of business development, product strategy, growth, or protocol/ecosystem leadership — ideally in crypto or fintech

A founder's mindset: high agency, comfortable with ambiguity, able to context-switch between a partnership negotiation, an incentive model, and a product spec in the same day

Strong understanding of stablecoin mechanics, DeFi liquidity dynamics, and on-chain incentive design

Proven ability to build and maintain senior relationships with issuers, protocols, and institutional partners

Sharp analytical thinking — comfortable working with data, modeling scenarios, and making trade-offs

Excellent communicator who can translate complex on-chain dynamics into clear strategic narratives for both crypto-native and traditional audiences

Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving, lean, globally distributed team

Bonus Points

Direct experience at a stablecoin issuer, DeFi protocol, L1/L2, or crypto-native fund

Background in commercial strategies, tokenomics, or liquidity strategy

Existing relationships with major stablecoin issuers and key DeFi teams building on Solana or across chains

Experience in payments infrastructure or traditional capital markets
